The Siren
The Siren. The next small and high-tech kite from
Ruth Whiting. So simple, it only has one spar. She designed this kite
in order to one up the Photon Fighter in terms of framing simplicity.
Like the Little Serendipity and
the Nano Photon
Fighter, the Siren is made with extreme precision using a complex
lay up procedure. It's very exciting and easy to fly. During the sketching phase, ultimate
design success is dependent upon prediction of the compound angles
of deformation in the kite's frame during flight. Once the flex compliance
is mapped (using a computer of course) the stability of the kite during
loaded flight (not stalling or gliding) can be optimized. Sometimes
you can actually see the equations streaming off the trailing edge.
